Steel Cut Oat Bread
- 1 cup Arrowhead Mills Steel Cut Oats
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tbsp Spectrum Canola Oil
- 3/4 tsp Hain Sea Salt
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 package yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 3/4 cup Arrowhead Mills
- Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour
- 2 cups Arrowhead Mills
- Enriched Unbleached White Flour
Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine Steel Cut Oats, maple syrup, oil and salt. Pour boiling water over oats. While the mixture is cooling, dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. After yeast mixture sets for 10 minutes, add the yeast mixture to the oat mixture. Work in the whole wheat flour and enriched unbleached white flour. Knead the mixture and place in a greased mixing bowl. Cover with a damp towel and let rise until doubled in size. Punch down. Place in oiled loaf pan, let rise again to double in size. Bake for about 40 minutes or until done.
